How to Build +EV Parlays on DFS Apps, Leg by Leg
A parlay is only as good as the price on every leg and the payout on the whole slip.
This lesson shows how to price DFS pick'em parlays on apps like DraftKings Pick6 and Betr: work out the break-even each leg needs, compare every leg to the sharpest prediction-market prices, check that the market's hold is tight, and look for better lines on other apps.
Only add a leg when the sharp market makes it more likely than your slip's break-even, then judge the parlay on the price you got, not on whether it hit.
Price each leg against the slip's payout
A gut feeling or a player's last five games does not make a leg good. The sharp market already bakes the matchup, the weather and the lineups into its odds, so what matters is the probability of each leg compared with the payout you are getting.
Each slip type sets a break-even, the hit rate each leg needs for the slip to pay off over time. A 3-pick power on Betr and Pick6 pays 6x, or +500 parlay odds, which works out to -122 per leg, or about 54.95%. That means each leg should have a fair chance of about 55% or better, and Fantasy Props shows that chance to hit for every leg.
Step 1: Compare each leg to prediction markets
Start by checking the same line on the sharpest markets. The video points to prediction markets such as Kalshi, Novig, ProphetX and Polymarket, for player props as well as game lines.
The reason is limits. Where there are no limits, sharp bettors put down their money, those lines move the most, and the prices end up among the sharpest in the industry. If that market gives your side a better chance than your slip's break-even, the DFS app is offering a better price than the sharp market, and the leg is a candidate.
Step 2: Check the hold before trusting the price
The hold, or width, is the gap between the over and under prices, which reflects how much margin is built into the market. In the video's example, a goalie's under 25.5 saves was -147 on Novig with the over at +135, a 12-cent hold that was very tight compared with the rest of the market.
A tight hold means the price is competitive and worth trusting. If the under were -147 but the over were -120, the gap would be so wide that you could take almost both sides at the same price, which tells you very little about which side is sharp.
Reading the hold on a prediction market
Tight: the price is reliable
Tells you little about the sharp side
The tight -147 under is a stronger price
Step 3: Look for line gaps across apps and books
Next, compare the line on other DFS apps and sportsbooks. In the same example, the play was the under 25.5 saves, while several books, including FanDuel and PrizePicks, had the line a full save lower at 24.5, so the video calls Betr the best price on the entire market for that under.
That made it a near-perfect parlay leg, whether it went into a 3-pick power at -122 implied or a 5-pick flex at -119 implied. Line gaps are a supporting sign rather than a requirement, but they help confirm which app is the right place to take the play.
Fantasy Props lets you build the parlay on Upside and shows whether that slip is +EV for the app and slip type you choose. Add -EV legs and it shows a negative number instead, and the slip-type filter marks which plays are +EV for that slip type in green. You still review and enter the slip yourself on the DFS app.
How Pick6's extra payouts change the math
DraftKings Pick6 is not a traditional pick'em app. It can add extra payouts on top of your base winnings (the video calls them purple payouts), and those extras can change the math of a slip, so a slip without the biggest edge on paper can still be +EV once the chance of an extra payout is included.
The same three checks apply on Pick6: a side heavily favored on prediction markets, a tight hold, and, optionally, line gaps on other apps and books. Because of the extra payouts, the video's view is that a Pick6 3-pick power can include legs slightly below the 55% threshold, but each leg should still be close to its fair chance to hit.
Judge the price, not the result
If you find two or three +EV legs, put them in a parlay and it misses, that does not mean you made a bad bet. If your probabilities were accurate and the price was good relative to them, it was still a good bet, and losing days and losing weeks are part of the process.
Keep a consistent unit size, and never raise it to chase losses or because you feel more confident about one slip. Your stake should come from your bankroll and the edge you are getting compared with the market, and a good single prop does not make a good parlay on its own: every leg matters, and so does the payout.
What a leg needs before it goes in your parlay
Clears the break-even
Its fair chance to hit is at or above your slip's break-even, about 55% for a 3-pick power.
Favored on prediction markets
Sharp markets like Kalshi, Novig, ProphetX or Polymarket make the side more likely than the price your slip implies.
Tight hold
The over and under on that market are close together, so the price is worth trusting.
Best line available
Other DFS apps and sportsbooks are no better, which tells you the app you are on is the place to take it.
Slip still +EV
The full slip, with its payout, still shows as +EV for that app and slip type.
Article FAQs
What does each leg of a 3-pick power need to hit?
A 3-pick power that pays 6x works out to -122 per leg, or about 54.95%. Aim for legs with a fair chance of about 55% or better.
Why compare DFS legs to prediction markets?
Prediction markets like Kalshi, Novig, ProphetX and Polymarket do not limit bettors, so sharp money flows there and moves the price. That makes them a strong reference for what a fair price looks like.
What is a tight hold?
It is a small gap between the over and under prices, like -147 and +135. A tight hold means the market price is competitive, while a wide one tells you little about which side is sharp.
Does a losing parlay mean I made a bad bet?
Not necessarily. If your probabilities were accurate and you got a good price relative to them, it was a good bet that lost, and that happens often with any +EV approach.
